From the graph we can see that Auschwitz is responsible for the most deaths during the Holocaust from the camps being examined. The graph only shows a bar for Auschwitz because of the extreme amount of murders that occurred there. With over three million deaths, the other two camps pale in comparison to Auschwitz. Another contributing factor to this extreme number is that Auschwitz can hold over 150,000 inmates at any time. Plaszow held about 150,000 inmates the entire time it was in operation. Bergen-Belsen had about 60,000 the entire time it was open. The massive amount of deaths at Auschwitz is a reason that we choose to memorialize it as much as we do, so we can remember those who lost their lives there.
